Bhindi ka Salan Recipe | Hyderabadi Salan | Gluten Free Recipe

Bhindi ka salan has an amazing unique taste and flavour. It is sweet sour nutty in taste. It goes well with khichdi and pulao and even plain rice too.

Salan means a curry or gravy. This salan is the famous biryani ka salan that is served in restaurants in Hyderabad with biryani. Bhindi or okra as you know tastes very good in a sweet sour gravy. We have many recipes of okra in tamarind juice in South India.  In this salan too we add a little tamarind extract in the end . So let us see how to make this delicious bhindi ka salan

We will begin by making the bhindi salan gravy 
Ingredients
To roast and blend to paste

1small cinnamon / dalchini 
2 green cardamoms / elaichi
2 cloves / lavang 
Small jaiphal / nutmeg 
Coriander seeds  / dhaniya 1tbsp
1/2 tsp methi seed / fenugreek seeds 
1/2 tbs cumin seeds / jeera
1/2 cup white sesame seeds / Safed TIL
1/2 cup peanuts / moongphali 
1/2 cup dry coconut grated

Other ingredients :

Oil to deep fry okra
259 grams okra
2 medium sized onions thinly sliced 
Ginger garlic paste 1.5 tbsp
1big lemon sized tamarind 
1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
1/2 tbsp red chilli powder 
2 green chillies slit 
2 tbsp coriander leaves 
Jaggery / gud 1 tbsp

For tempering:

3 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp methi / fenugreek seeds 
1 tsp jeera or cumin seeds
Red chilies 2
2 tsp curry leaves
