How to Boil Sweet Potatoes, Shakarkandi Without Water | Desilicious Kitchen

Cook delicious aromatic Sweet Potatoes without boiling , without sand and without pressure cooker. Sweet potatoes are a treasure trove of vitamin a, minerals antioxidants and fibre. Sweet potatoes or shakarkandi though sweet, have lower gkycemic index and contain vitamin A which is good for eye health. So it is said to be good even for diabetics.

Some people cook sweet potatoes by boiling them in water either by peeling off along or not peeling. Others can’t do without a pressute cooker. And then there are some who insist that a base of sand or mud is a must to cook them perfect.

In this video we at Desilicious Kitchen have shown how to cook sweet potatoes while retaining their natural yellow colour and sweetness. Both of these are lost to a large extent when we boil them in water.
