Ginger chutney is known as allam pachadi in Telegu. Ginger or adrak as it is called in Hindi or inji as they say in Tamil has many benefits for health. It supports the immune system , is very effective for pains, headaches, cold and cough. This inji chutney or adrak ki chutney or allam pachadi as this ginger chutney is famously and variously known is as tasty as is healing and nutritious . The combination of ginger and jaggery or gud is excellent for taste and health. It is versatile and goes well with pesarttu, dosa , idli and rice. But you can enjoy it with rotis and breads too.
ingredients needed fr making this allam pachadi recipe are
1 cup is 250ml for our recipes. You can use any cup
1 cup ginger, washed, peeled and chopped
3/4 cup tamarind
3/4 cup jaggery
3/4 cup red chillies
1/2 cup chana dal
1 tsp methi seeds/ fenugreek seeds
1 cup sesame seed oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
1 red chilli for tempering
1/4 tsp asafoetida powder
1 tsp curry leaves
