Ragi Oat Masala Poori. Gluten-Free,Vegan
So, here’s my question. Do you love Pooris but are worried about the oil content and digestion? Look no further- My new Ragi Poori recipe is to die for!
Ragi Poori is a delicious food with many health benefits. It is rich in calcium, iron, and fiber. These encourage healthy blood and bones and aid in digestion. Ragi Poori contains less oil than Wheat Poori, and is gluten free.
Poori with a side of Potato Masala or Chole (garbanzo beans curry) has always been my favorite dish growing up in Chennai, India. When I switched to a gluten free diet in 2010, my Poori meals were made even better! How? Yep, you guessed it! Replace wheat with Ragi Oats and my Pooris are amazing! I can guarantee that Ragi takes no back seat to wheat!
1 cup cup ragi flour
1 cup gluten free oat flour
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp minced green chili
1 tsp oil
hot water as needed
salt as needed
Mix the dry ingredients first and
then the wet ingredients without any lumps,
finally add the oil to grease the dough,
knead the dough and make lemon size balls,
use a parchment paper or a flat surface to roll,
apply oil to the roller and roll into small circles,
use a round cutter to form a decent shape .
Heat the oil in a pan
when the oil gets hot place the poori in oil,
press on top till puffy, flip over and cook.
Serve with poori masala.
