Learn how to make sweet potatoes masala fry recipe at home. Sweet potato, shakarkandi is a root vegetable . It is starchy,  sweet to taste and has tuberous roots. In terms of nutrition, sweet potato packs a punch. It is rich in minerals and vitamins, especially in potassium and vitamin A. Sweet potatoes when cooked are very aromatic and lend a unique flavor unlike regular potatoes which are neutral. 
This sweet potato fry or masala fry shakarkandi is of course gluten free. this shakarkandi recipe can be made vegan recipe by skipping butter and substituting with a nut butter or oil

Ingredients :

1/2 kilo sweet potatoes 

1 medium size onion chopped fine

Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp 

Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp 

Salt

Lemon juice 2 tsp 

For tempering

1 /2 tsp mustard seeds 

1/2 tsp urad dal

1 red chilli 

Curry leaves

2 tbsp butter

For crushing in mortar and pestle 

1 tsp Coriander seeds

2 tsp cumin seeds 

1 green chilli broken

4 flakes garlic
